Traffic Engineer Intern (EI) or Traffic Project Engineer (PE)
LTG, Inc. is an established, but growing engineering and planning firm. We provide consulting services to diverse clientele including federal, state, county, city and private entities. Our primary services include roadway design, traffic engineering, traffic analysis, transportation planning, and land use planning functions.
LTG is currently seeking a licensed Traffic Engineer Intern (EI) or Traffic Project Engineer (PE) to be located in either our Ormond Beach or Melbourne, Florida office. The successful candidate will work within our Traffic Operations department to provide traffic operations, traffic engineering, and transportation planning services.
Responsibilities:
- Produce and review traffic operations analyses such as traffic impact studies, corridor studies, intersection analyses, and safety studies.
- Perform traffic operations analysis, traffic simulation modeling and traffic forecasting.
- Prepare plans, specifications and inspection reports.
- Calculate quantity estimates in connection with the traffic aspects of road construction.
- Perform field investigations and inspections and to evaluate traffic conditions.
- Meet schedule milestones, budget constraints and quality benchmarks on assigned projects and tasks.
- Client coordination, including phone calls, emails, conference calls, meetings, reports, to assist the Project Manager and / or to meet client and project needs.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, required.
- 3+ years of traffic engineering experience, required.
- Active Florida EI license, required; Florida PE license, preferred. (Engineer Interns must have desire to pursue PE license.)
- Candidates with a PE license from another state will be required to obtain their FL PE license by Endorsement within their 90-day probationary period.
- Experience with SYNCHRO, HCS and other related software, strongly preferred.
- Must have excellent grammar, spelling, and technical writing skills.
- Must have strong verbal communication skills.
- Must have strong analytical and mathematical skills.
- Committed to quality assessment and quality control procedures.
- Must be detail-oriented and able to manage multiple tasks efficiently and accurately.
- Understanding of traffic operations and familiarity with pertinent national, state, local (preferred), and industry standards.
- Ability to form and maintain positive relationships with clients.
- Ability to work both independently and on a team with minimal supervision after proper training has been provided.

CADD Operator
LTG, Inc. is an established, but growing engineering and planning firm. We provide consulting services to diverse clientele including federal, state, county, city and private entities. Our primary services include traffic analysis, design, transportation planning, and land use planning functions.
LTG is currently seeking a full-time position for an entry-level Computer Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) Operator to provide traffic and transportation design and plans production under the direction and supervision of a licensed professional engineer. This position will be located in our Melbourne or Ormond Beach, Florida offices.
Responsibilities:
- Development and production of detailed transportation and traffic design & construction drawings in MicroStation / MicroStation Connect, and AutoCAD / Civil 3D under close supervision.
- Development of engineering documents including horizontal and vertical geometry. Preparation of plan and profile sheets, typical sections, cross sections, and detail sheets following LTG’s standards and quality control procedures.
- Preparation of electronic delivery of Final Plans, meeting FDOT standards.
- Calculate plans quantities, including areas, earthwork volumes, drainage structures, pavement markings, and pay items.
- Meet scheduled milestones and quality benchmarks on assigned projects and tasks.
- Assist with software downloads, license management, hardware set up, installation of Bentley and Autodesk products, and resolution of CADD software and hardware issues.
- Assist with the development of training for CADD operators to disseminate changes to current procedures, new CADD standards, and new software.
- Perform other duties the supervisor may deem necessary.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum Associate Degree, in CADD or related field with strong emphasis in Mathematics, or current CADD experience, required.
- Experience with one or more of the following: Bentley MicroStation Open Roads, Bentley MicroStation Connect, Autodesk AutoCAD, and Autodesk Civil 3D design platforms, preferred.
Experience with FDOT design applications, Bentley Microstation SS10, or prior FDOT project CADD, preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, preferred.
- Motivated, self-starting individual that aspires to work in a team environment.
- Strong personal organizational and time management skills.
